September 8th-11th: Rush Week, 7-10 pm each night
Dress: Business Casual
I want to inform you about a great opportunity coming up this spring, Going Greek! This is one of the best decisions you can make during your time here at Michigan State University. Joining the Greek community is about meeting people, making lifelong friendships, networking, and helping the community through philanthropic efforts. Whether you have friends that already go here or want to meet new people, going Greek is the best way to expand your social life and develop life skills. The Greek community is full of leadership possibilities and transforms young kids into men over the course of their college careers. Contrary to many beliefs, joining a Fraternity is also a great academic resource as the community boasts an overall higher GPA than the rest of campus! If doing well in school, building lifelong friendships, helping people, and having fun at the same time sounds interesting to you then come out for Fall Rush!
The recruitment system for fraternities is informal. This means you can attend as few or as many rush events as you`d like, at as few or as many houses as you would like. Most chapters hold an open house on every night of Rush Week from 7-10 pm. You are encouraged to go to as many chapters as possible to make sure you find one that fits you the best. These open houses are a time when you can get to know the brothers of each chapter and what each chapter is all about. Bids to join fraternities will be passed out starting at 10:00 pm Thursday evening of recruitment week.
If you have any questions about the recruitment process or where to go, please do not hesitate to contact me!
